Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 29, 2026 - Last Updated: November 5, 2026

These Terms govern your access to stopmail.cc and your use of StopMail’s email subscription discovery, unsubscribe, keep, email deletion and related services. The service operator is StopMail (“we”, “us” or “our”). Please read the provisions on mailbox actions, paid subscriptions and refunds, service limitations and your statutory rights.

These Terms form an agreement between you and StopMail when you expressly accept them during registration or ordering. If you do not agree, do not register or purchase the service. Browsing the public website does not authorize us to connect your mailbox or charge you for a subscription.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information. Acceptance of these Terms does not replace any separate privacy consent required by law. Our Subscription Terms and Refund Policy apply to paid services. Your order establishes the price, offer, billing period and features you expressly select. A term not clearly disclosed and accepted before payment does not change a confirmed order.

2 Eligibility and account security

You must have reached the legal age and have the capacity required to enter into these Terms where you live. The service is not directed to children below that age. Provide accurate account information, keep your contact email current, and protect your password and devices.

Connect only mailboxes you own or are lawfully authorized to manage. An employer or administrator may need to approve access to a work or organizational mailbox. Do not impersonate another person or treat your authorization as consent from other mailbox users. Contact [email protected] promptly if you discover unauthorized account use or a security issue.

3 Mailbox authorization and availability

Mailbox connection takes place through the provider’s OAuth authorization page. We do not ask you to give StopMail your mailbox password. Discovery uses necessary email headers and metadata. Email deletion requires the applicable additional write permission. A provider’s authorization screen may describe broader permissions; our actual processing remains limited by our Privacy Policy and the functions you choose.

Available providers, account types and functions are those actually enabled in the product. Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365 access depends on provider authorization, tenant rules, APIs and rate limits. Yahoo or other connections that have not been released are not promised features. We do not act for Google, Microsoft or any sender.

You initiate mailbox synchronization. Scan windows, pagination, provider restrictions and plan limits can affect results. We do not guarantee discovery of every subscription or coverage of an entire mailbox. Expired authorization, network problems or provider policy changes may require reconnection or temporarily prevent a function from working.

4 Effects of mailbox actions

Unsubscribe: you instruct us to submit a request to a sender’s unsubscribe endpoint when safe automated processing is supported. We prioritize standard one-click HTTPS mechanisms. If an action cannot be performed safely, we report the limitation or failure. Merely showing a web link or mailto link is not reported as a successful unsubscribe.

A 'successful unsubscribe' counts toward your plan limit when StopMail has submitted a request to the sender's unsubscribe endpoint and received a successful response. Failed, unsupported or unconfirmed attempts do not count toward your plan limit.

“Request sent” means a request was submitted, not that the sender has stopped sending email. Senders usually need processing time. Any estimate of 24 to 72 hours is an estimate only and may be exceeded. A sender may disregard a request, and messages from other addresses or transactional and legally required notices may continue.

Keep: this records a preference and processing status within StopMail. It does not create mailbox filtering rules, alter email content or give a sender new consent to send email.

Delete: after your confirmation and the required permission, discovered target messages are moved to the mailbox’s Trash or Deleted Items. This does not stop future messages or unsubscribe you. The mailbox provider controls trash retention, restoration and permanent deletion. StopMail does not guarantee restoration. Check the target mailbox, sender and selected records before proceeding.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not cancel a paid service, order or membership you purchased from that sender or another merchant. Canceling your paid StopMail subscription is a separate billing action governed by the Subscription Terms.

5 Your instructions and data rights

You retain your rights in your data. To provide the functions you request, you authorize us to process account information, connection credentials and minimal email metadata as necessary and to carry out confirmed mailbox actions on your behalf. This authorization does not permit us to sell mailbox data, create advertising profiles from it or use it to train general-purpose AI models.

You may disconnect a mailbox, revoke authorization, export data or delete your account through the available product controls. On disconnection, we stop initiating new mailbox actions through that connection, attempt provider revocation and delete the associated local connection data. You may also need to revoke permissions manually in the provider’s security settings. An unsubscribe request already sent to a sender or a message move already completed by a provider may not be reversible.

Account exports exclude OAuth tokens, mailbox passwords, email bodies and attachments. The Privacy Policy governs account deletion and retention. When you delete your account, we will also help you cancel any active paid subscription as described in the Subscription Terms.

6 Paid services

Paid trials, subscriptions and promotional offers are available only as shown at checkout. The price, billing period, offer terms and renewal terms are disclosed before payment and apply only if you expressly accept them. Offers do not combine unless the combination is clearly displayed in your order. Opening or closing an upgrade, discount or retention modal does not authorize a charge.

The Subscription Terms explain automatic renewal, trial conversion, cancellation and failed payments. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy. Statutory rights and exceptions such as billing errors remain protected.

7 Acceptable use

Do not use the service to unlawfully access mailboxes, steal credentials, harass others, send spam, circumvent permissions or plan limits, disrupt our or a provider’s systems, or abuse the service through unauthorized automation. Do not introduce malicious code, sell other people’s mailbox data or commit fraud.

Except where the law permits, do not reverse engineer, copy or resell the service. This provision does not exclude lawful interoperability rights or responsible security research. Report vulnerabilities to [email protected] and avoid accessing real user data that is not yours.

8 Intellectual property and feedback

We or the relevant rights holders own StopMail’s software, interface, branding and website content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these Terms and your purchased entitlements. Mailbox content, sender identifiers and third-party trademarks remain with their respective rights holders.

You may voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback. We may use suggestions that do not contain personal or confidential information to improve the service. This does not transfer ownership of your mailbox data or private communications to us. Do not send mailbox passwords, access tokens or unrelated email content in feedback.

Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365, Yahoo and other third-party names are trademarks of their respective owners. StopMail is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them.

9 Changes and termination

We may change the service for security, maintenance, legal requirements or product improvements. If a change materially reduces paid entitlements, or we discontinue a paid service that has not yet been supplied, we will give advance notice where reasonably practicable and provide remedies required by law, which may include performance, an alternative, cancellation or an appropriate refund.

We may impose necessary and proportionate restrictions, suspension or termination for unlawful use, material breach, fraud, security risks or non-payment. Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to correct the issue or appeal. Urgent security or legal matters may require immediate action. Termination does not remove accrued rights, refund claims or statutory obligations.

10 Limitations and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compliance by every sender with an unsubscribe request, or detection of every spam, virus or phishing risk by a checker. The service is not a full email client or security product and does not replace your management of important messages and backups.

We will provide the service with reasonable skill and care. We are responsible under applicable law for losses caused by our breach. To the extent lawful and fair, we are not responsible for indirect losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or business profit losses without a direct causal connection to our breach.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where limitation is unlawful, data protection obligations or mandatory consumer remedies. Using the service does not make you bear all risks arising from our own fault.

11 Disputes and applicable law

Contact [email protected] with the relevant facts and your requested resolution. We will consider complaints in good faith. You do not have to complete an internal complaint process before exercising rights provided by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to your mandatory consumer rights, the state and federal courts located in Delaware have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.

12 Updates and contact

We will publish updated Terms with an effective date. Changes to billing, data uses or other material rights will be notified in advance as required by law. We will obtain separate express consent when required. Changes do not retrospectively alter confirmed orders or accrued rights. An invalid provision does not affect other provisions that can lawfully operate.
